love at first sight. for the dog.
let's just say E was having nada to do with the 'huge' (her words) man in red with a long white beard. the photos of her were snapped after we left P.T. where santa came to visit- the crowd of people was overwhelming enough. once he showed up? well, lets just say she hasn't clung to me and melted down in tears in many, many long months. we thanked santa and headed on our way. and she cheered up as soon as we were to the car (you can see she's trying really hard not to smile in that second photo!).
Boob, on the other hand, was happy to sit by him at psmart this past weekend- i haven't seen him smile that big before :) i think it was all the back scratching... he didn't want to leave. and E was content to look on saying, "aww look at ransom so cute".

It is a weird thing we do here, teach our children about stranger danger, then ask them to sit on the lap of a big scary guy in red and "talk to the stranger".
ReplyDeleteI struggled with the "story telling" aspect of the jolly old guy and when my son finally figured out the truth accused me of lying saying "you said you would never lie to me." I knew it! I just couldn't figure out how to do the holiday right without the Ho Ho Ho and how to keep a 5 year old from telling everyone else in kindergarten! : D
Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteLOVE that photo of Santa & the Boob!!! He looks soooo content in that photo (the Boob, that is! lol!)

HUGS!!

My 4 year old who has been with us since 11 months old has never managed to visit santa. At 15 months she screamed, next year she cried, this year we didn't even try - but santa came to school and there was NO way she was going anywhere near him.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of Santa and the boob!
I have to agree.....that is one HUGE smile that Ransom has!!
ReplyDelete(Love E's shirt!)
It is so hard to see our babies get frightened. last year I took Duc to the Children's Museum where they had a Star Wars exhibit going on. Darth Vadar got too close and he cried panicky tears for 20 minutes. So hard. I don't think we will be visiting Santa this year even though he talks about him a lot:)
ReplyDeleteVery cute indeed. I Love that picture!!
ReplyDeleteJill still won't sit on Santa's knee(6yrs old now), we have one shot of her and it's hilarious, they snapped the photo and all you see of Jill is her running out of the frame on the left hand corner!
ReplyDeleteI love the Boob photo, I just read your last entry, what a difficult decision, my heart goes out to you all. Cherish this special time, hug..
Can't blame E for the candid reaction. Love the happy campers in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best doggone doggie grin I have EVER seen! Your pup looks totally stoked! He must hang tight with the magic of the Claus. Totally magical photo.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is now 8 soon to be 9 in Feb. and I still do not have a picture of her with Santa. She is a believer, but wants nothing to do with the man in the red suit. I told her she will be 30 by the time I get one and she just laughed and said "If you are lucky."
ReplyDeleteThe grin on "Boob's" face it priceless!
Poor E! At least the dog enjoyed his time with the huge red man.
